One of the smaller SD/SDHC USB readers out there. It really is only a bit bigger than a thumb drive (and doubles as one when used with an SD or SDHC card). If you need to use a memory card for your camera greater than 4GB (i.e. 8GB or 16GB), then you will be using the newer "SD-HC (high capacity)" cards that cannot be read by a computer with a standard SD card slot.
I don't know if you might have trouble in Windows Vista (I use only XP and it works just fine) - so you may want to check on that if you're a Vista user.
This gadget will allow you to read your high capacity SD cards just fine. Works great - just plug the reader into your USB slot, slide your 8GB memory card into the reader, and it's instantly ready for transfer of your pictures. VERY FAST at transfer, I might add. Much faster than the standard SD card reader on my Dell laptop.
So it works flawlessly, and costs $1.50 - why would you want to buy anything else?

I initially thought that this had been mis-advertised as it would not work with my SDHC card. However, after a few retries, it is indeed working and working well. The mini-SD receiver (you need an adapter for micro) is a bit touchy on positioning; make sure you are watching for the LED to tell you that the card is being read. My experience is that if the red light comes on, goes out, and then comes back on - you should be good to go. Anyway - for the price, this is a great accessory if you have recently added a SDHC device and need a convenient data access solution. Also, the depicted read cover (over card receiver) fits with the MiniSD card/Adapter in the slot for a bit of extra protection.

I have no idea how this has so many positive reviews if they weren't faked by the producer - this USB device is plagued with problems, and most of them don't work straight out of the box. Those few that do usually deteriorate shortly thereafter - mine isn't even useful as a paperweight. It's light as a feather (which means flimsy), has plenty of shoddy connections (which is why they break so quickly) and a simple google search will demonstrate just how aweful they are. Save your money, buy something else.

Did a search for "micro SD reader USB" and this piece of junk popped up. I bought it and it does not have a slot for micro SD. What a waste of money.
